INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Personal Information Collected

SGB respects your privacy while you are an online visitor to our Site. We do not collect personal information unless you provide it to us voluntarily and knowingly. You can have general access to, and browse, our Site without providing any personal information. If you wish to make a donation(s) through our Site, we will request certain personal information such as your name, mailing address, telephone number, email address, and credit card information (including credit card number, expiration date, and security code). We also may request certain personal information if you wish to register for an event or volunteer your time at an SGB-sponsored event. And we will receive your personal information if you submit it to us when you e-mail comments to/about the Site.

Charitable Donations

SGB uses Stripe, Inc. services to process charitable donations through our Site. Stripe is a PCI compliant service provider. SGB maintains a PCI-compliant website and all sensitive consumer data is securely transmitted directly to Stripe without it passing through our servers. For a description of how Stripe, Inc. protects the information collected, see the Stripe Privacy Policy at https://stripe.com/privacy.

Information Automatically Collected; Use of Cookies

We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate our Site. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, information about how and when you use our Site, and other technical information. This type of information is primarily used to maintain the security and operation of our Site, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes.

Like many organizations, we collect information through cookies (and similar technology, like web beacons and pixels). Cookies are tiny data files that sites commonly write to your hard drive automatically when you visit them so that they can remember you when you visit. A cookie file contains information that can identify you anonymously and maintain your account's privacy -- no personal information is passed or stored in a cookie. We may use cookies to maintain the integrity of a customer login session, and to access or store information so that the Site can be personalized based on user preferences or user history. You may have the option of setting your browser to reject cookies; however, doing so may negatively impact upon the performance of the Site or restrict us in better serving your needs and interests. The “help” portion of the toolbar on most browsers will tell you how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether.

USE & SHARING OF YOUR INFORMATION

Use of Your Information

We use personal information collected from you for a variety of legitimate purposes, including the following:

To facilitate, with your consent, charitable donations.

To send you service and new feature information, and/or information about changes to our terms, conditions, and policies.

For data analysis, identifying usage trends, determining the effectiveness of our charitable campaigns, and to evaluate and improve our Site, services, and your experience.

To contact you periodically with required notices, important information, charitable events, programs, and volunteer opportunities.

For compliance with our legal obligations.

For other legitimate purposes, with your consent.

Sharing of Your Information

We do not disclose any of your personal information to anyone, other than to our charitable affiliates, The Signature Real Estate Companies (and related or subsidiary companies), as the owner and operator of the Site, except as permitted by law, such as to our attorneys, and to certain trusted service providers, such as third-party web site hosts. We will only release information about you if you direct us to do so, if compelled to do so by law or in connection with any government or self-regulatory organization request or investigation. We do not otherwise sell, rent, trade, or provide your personal information to outside parties.

We only share and disclose your information in the following situations:

  • Compliance with Laws and Court Orders. We may disclose your information where we are legally required to do so in order to comply with applicable laws, governmental requests, a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process such as in response to a court order or a subpoena (including in response to public authorities to meet national security or law enforcement requirements). Should any court order or applicable law require that we disclose your personal information, we will do so only to the extent necessary to comply with such order or law.
  • Vital interests and Legal Rights. We may disclose your information where we believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding potential violations of our policies, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person and illegal activities, or as evidence in litigation in which we are involved.
  • Vendors, Consultants, and Other Third-Party Service Providers. We may share your information with third-party vendors such as service providers, contractors or agents who perform services for us or on our behalf and who require access to such information to do that work. Examples include: payment processing, data analysis, email delivery, hosting services, customer service, and marketing services. We may allow selected third parties to use tracking technology on our Site, which will enable them to collect data about how you interact with the Site over time. This information may be used to, among other things, analyze and track data, determine the popularity of certain content, and better understand online activity.
  • Service Providers. We may disclose your personal information to our trusted service providers who work on our behalf, who do not have an independent use for the information we disclose to them, and who have agreed in writing to protect your personal information to the same degree and extent as our Privacy Policy.
  • With Your Consent. We may disclose your personal information for any other purpose with your consent.

Unless otherwise stated in this Privacy Policy, we will not sell, rent or share your personal information with third parties.

In the unlikely event that SGB undergoes any substantial change in governance, the new governing board will be subject to this Privacy Policy in its use of your personally identifiable Information. In addition, in the further unlikely event that SGB is adjudicated bankrupt or insolvent, (a) there will be no further use or disclosure of your personally identifiable Information by SGB, and (b) your personally identifiable Information will be destroyed. In addition, there will be no use or disclosure of your personally identifiable Information by any entity that acquires assets of SGB pursuant to such bankruptcy or insolvency proceedings.

We are concerned with the safety and security of your sessions on our Site, the information you provide to us online, and any transactions you conduct with us online. We have implemented and maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards consistent with industry standard protocol to help guard your nonpublic personal information, including safeguards to protect against the loss, misuse, interception, access, and alteration of information you send to us. We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those of our employees, contractors and agents who need to know the information to enable us to provide our services to you.

We take every precaution to protect your information, both online and off-line. The servers on which we store your personal information are kept in a secure environment. However, please remember that, despite all of these efforts and precautions, we cannot guarantee that the Internet itself is 100% secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Site is at your own risk and you should only access the products and services within a secure environment.

Hyperlinks

This Privacy Policy applies only to the use of this Site. This Site contains hyperlinks or “links” to other sites, and other sites may “link” to this Site. Web sites linking to and from this Site may have different privacy practices from ours. SGB does not have control over these other sites and is not responsible for the data collection, privacy and information sharing policies and procedures or the content of such other web sites. You should refer to the privacy policies of each of these linked sites to determine how your privacy is protected.

Retention of Your Information

We will only keep your personal information for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, to comply with legal obligations -- for example, if we are required to retain your information to comply with applicable laws, resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies).

When we have no ongoing legitimate need to process or retain your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize it, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.
